Job summary

A1M Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement scalable government-focused software solutions. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous goals into concrete tasks, contribute to architectural decisions, and mentor peers in code quality and DevOps practices.

This is a fully remote, full-time role requiring 8 years of experience and strong Django, PostgreSQL, and AWS skills, with a track record in government consulting.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Ability to write high-quality, tested, maintainable code in production software systems.
• Expertise in building secure, compliant software and minimizing vulnerabilities.
• Experience in one or more adjacent specializations such as data engineering, DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or application security.
• Capable of operating as a self-starter in ambiguous environments and executing high-impact work.
• Proven ability to communicate technical results clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working in government consulting engagements.

Responsibilities

• Own components or services from development through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Deploy and manage systems in cloud environments (AWS) using CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
• Design, build, and integrate APIs and data flows with PostgreSQL and cloud data services.
• Shape system design and contribute to architectural decisions and diagrams.
• Improve code quality, automated testing, linting, and development standards.
• Contribute to DevOps practices including deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and review code and designs to support team growth.
• Collaborate to break down complex goals into concrete steps.
• Share new technologies and skills to support project goals.
• Participate in discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
