Waymo is shaping the future of autonomous mobility and seeks a seasoned engineer to optimize Fleet Response operations. You will design efficiency measures, partner with multiple teams, and propose new optimization ideas to reduce workload and costs while ensuring reliability.

The role requires a strong background in distributed systems, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency in C++. Remote work may be available for qualified US locations, with a comprehensive benefits package and bonus

Qualifikationen

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical field.
5+ years of industry experience navigating complex systems with distributed ownership.
Experience with C++ or related structured programming language.

Aufgaben

Design and implement measures to increase the efficiency and decrease the cost of Fleet Response operations.
Partner with other teams at Waymo to find headroom in their shares of operational workload.
Generate and research ideas for new optimizations of the work operators perform.
Work with onboard engineering teams to sunset operational work that is no longer necessary.
Contribute to cross-functional analysis and optimization efforts.
Improve regression-detection and culprit-finding for changes that negatively impact operational metrics.
