Job summary

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is seeking a Senior Software Developer to support the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at NIH. This full-time role is onsite at the NCBI in Bethesda, MD and may include remote work.

The Senior Software Developer will work on the CDA team, developing and maintaining token technologies and supporting the Authorized Access platform and Study Registration System. Technologies include C++, Python, SQL, JSON, REST, and a Linux-based stack.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Object-Oriented programming with C++.
• Fluency in scripting languages such as BASH or Python.
• Programming in a Linux environment.
• Cloud technologies: AWS (EC2, S3).
• Cloud technologies: GCP (GKE).
• Ability to work with JSON and structured formats.
• Experience with network programming and multi-threading.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with HTML, CGI and REST APIs.
• Experience with Agile development practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, unit tests, and integration/regression testing.
