Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build innovative AI-enabled platforms using a diverse stack (Java, Kotlin, Go on backend; TypeScript, React and Dart on frontend). You will design, develop, test, and mentor, collaborating with product owners and designers, contributing to scalable cloud-based distributed systems and modern OOP practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, OOP, cloud-based distributed systems.
• Expertise in modern languages such as Dart, React, TypeScript, Go, Java, and/or Kotlin.
• Experience mentoring other engineers preferred.
• Experience in agile environments preferred.
• Experience designing for service-oriented architectures a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality software solutions meeting requirements.
• Utilize AI tooling to accelerate development and enhance features.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and stakeholders to refine requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and standards.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure quality.
• Deliver and document technical solutions meeting customer expectations.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans with unit, integration, and functional tests.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across multiple services.
• Collaborate with support teams to resolve production issues.
• Participate in product discovery to gain insights and identify opportunities.
• Establish KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor and coach engineers, guiding growth and performance.
• Communicate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
