MKS Instruments is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, remote to join the team.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging software programs and control algorithms to support existing and future RF power generators used in semiconductor manufacturing applications. You will work with the Software, Digital, Power Electronics, and Control Engineering staff to develop designs for prototypes in the area of embedded digital control systems for MKS products.

Responsibilities include:
• Develops software applications using high level programming languages such as C++, Python
• Analyzes and determines system software test standards and procedures
• Analyzes requirements, designs, implements, documents, and tests against customer, marketing, and engineering requests
• Follows software and business processes to ensure high level quality and robustness of deliverables
• Contributes meaningfully within the software team to improve on-time delivery and frequency of new releases

What You Bring to The Team, along with your curiosity:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electric Engineering or related is required
• 5+ years of C++ development (will consider mix of co-ops/internships and on the job experience)

• Ability to travel up to 15%.

It’s Also Nice if You Have:

• Understanding of Agile development process and tools (Jira)

• Hands-on skills working with circuits and test equipment (oscilloscope, function generator)

• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving skills

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Pay Range: $86,100.00 to 160,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
