About The Job

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our Digital Engineering team. This position is based in Houston, TX but employee may work from any location in the United States subject to company remote work policy. The office location is 6380 Rogerdale Rd Houston Tx 77072.

What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities

• Provide professional design, development, and unit testing of Java-based applications.
• Create scalable, highly available, and reliable microservices-based applications with an emphasis on employing suitable software design patterns to achieve high reusability and maintainability.
• Provide hands on technical leadership and participate in architectural decision-making.
• Collaborate with Architects and other Software Engineering resources in the design and implementation of integrated, enterprise solutions.
• Collaborate with QA, product management, and DevOps teams using Agile methodologies.
• Analyze current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions.
• Participate in resolution of production issues and lead efforts toward solutions.
• Conduct peer code reviews and offer mentorship and recommendations to other junior and offshore developers.
• Proactively identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Author effective unit tests and integration tests to ensure high quality software delivery leveraging continuous integration and continuous deployment patterns.
  
  

What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field,
• 6 years professional experience, including 6 years of professional IT experience, with at least 3 of those years focused on Microservice, WebSphere Application, and Continuous Integration and Delivery using Jenkins; 6 years of experience with Java 8 and above; 4 years of experience with MySql, Oracle 12c and above, Sprint Boot, and Spring 5; 3 years of experience with Github and GitHub Actions, Jenkins CI/CD Pipelines, Hibernate 5.4 and above, and SFTP; and 2 years of experience in cloud technologies, with Microservices, Gradle 5.4, App dynamics, Liquibase 3.5, and Sumologic.
  
  
  
  

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

• Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
