Job description

The Sr. Software Engineer is responsible for independently developing and consistently redesigning / refactoring a product to adapt to our customers and associates needs. As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team with engineers of all experience levels who help each other build and grow technical and leadership skills while creating, deploying, and supporting production applications. In addition, Sr. Software Engineers may be involved in product and tool selection, configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning and production monitoring as well as mentoring less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Delivery and Execution (50%) - Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software with a clear understanding of its value; tackle new opportunities and challenges with urgency and enthusiasm; develop test suites for successful and rapid deployment; approach issues broadly with a global perspective.
2. Learns and Grows (20%) - Learn from experiments, seek growth opportunities through formal and informal channels.
3. Plans and Aligns (20%) - Collaborate in agile processes; improve organizational success; work with the Product Team to ensure user stories are valuable, clear, and testable; communicate effectively across audiences; adapt to changing demands; relate well with diverse groups.
4. Supports and Enables (10%) - Mentor junior engineers; lead technical discussions; promote modern software development frameworks.

Reporting Structure :

• Typically reports to a Software Engineer Manager or Sr. Manager.
• Has no direct reports.

Travel Requirements :

No travel required.

Physical Requirements :

• Mostly sitting with opportunities to move; rare need to lift light articles.

Working Conditions :

• Indoor, comfortable environment; infrequent unpleasant conditions.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Must be 18 or older.
• Legally permitted to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications :

• 2-4 years relevant experience.
• Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript), object-oriented languages (preferably Java), databases, cloud computing, CI/CD, software design patterns.
• Experience with security frameworks, testing, debugging, version control.
