Job summary

Overwatch Imaging, based in Nashville, TN, seeks a Senior Software Engineer- Tactical to transform sensor data into real-time intelligence for our tactical applications. You will build and optimize onboard imaging, AI, and control software in a hands-on, fast-paced startup environment.

You will lead design, development, and mentoring efforts, ensure code quality, and collaborate across hardware drivers, image processing, and deployment tooling to meet latency and PPA constraints.

Qualifications

• Formal education in software engineering, CS, or related fields.
• 8+ years experience with a bachelor, or 5+ with a master/PhD.
• Experience with airborne or space-based remote sensing and image processing.
• Proficiency in C++, Python, CUDA, and OpenCV.
• Leadership or mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: design, develop, and maintain complex software applications; write clean, efficient code and participate in code reviews.
• Imaging Payload Embedded Software: lead code development and testing for drivers and data management; interface with hardware.
• Geospatial Imagery Optimization: geolocate, rectify, mosaic and register imagery with map data.
• Software Interfaces: maintain connections between payloads and external systems for control and data export.
• Software Deployment: build, test, and deploy software versions and manage dependencies.
