Job summary

Carbon, Inc. is hiring a frontend software engineer in Sunnyvale to build customer‑facing web apps and APIs. You will own significant portions of the UI, leverage React, and integrate with Tier‑0 services. You will improve performance and scalability while collaborating with product managers and engineers.

The role emphasizes deep React knowledge, modern frontend patterns, and end‑to‑end ownership in a fast‑moving hardware/software environment in Sunnyvale, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong React and modern front-end skills with state management and performance optimization.
• Experience building web apps that integrate with backend services via REST and gRPC APIs, with auth.
• Experience designing and building production APIs (REST, gRPC, or similar).
• Experience scaling a web application in production.

Responsibilities

• Build high‑impact web applications that integrate with Tier‑0 services.
• Create modern REST and gRPC APIs powering web apps and platform capabilities.
• Scale front‑end and cloud integrations using GCP and scalable databases.
• Demonstrate deep React expertise to develop data‑heavy dashboards.
• Own features end‑to‑end from design through production and ship scalable code.
• Collaborate with product managers, mentor junior engineers, and participate in design reviews.
