Job summary

Carbon in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to design and ship customer-facing web applications that power our global printer network. You will own major features from design through production, collaborating with product managers, UI/UX, and backend teams to ensure robust, scalable experiences.

We expect strong React expertise, deep knowledge of component architecture and state management, and a track record of building production-grade APIs and data-intensive interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong React and modern front-end skills, including deep experience with component architecture, state management, and performance optimization.
• Proven experience building and shipping web applications that integrate with backend services (REST/gRPC APIs, auth, real‑time data).
• Experience designing and building production APIs (REST, gRPC, or similar) that other applications or clients consume.

Responsibilities

• Build High‑Impact Web Applications: Design and ship customer‑facing web apps that integrate with Tier‑0 services (Fleet Management, Auth, and Core APIs).
• Create Modern APIs: Design and build REST and gRPC interfaces powering web applications and exposing platform capabilities.
• Scale Web‑to‑Backend Systems: Own portions of front‑end and cloud integration with GCP and scalable databases.
• Have Deep React Expertise: Build data-heavy interfaces with high-performance rendering and thoughtful state management.
• Own Features End‑to‑End: Take initiatives from design through production and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Bring Agency and a Learning Mindset: Learn quickly and complete work beyond your current stack.
• Collaborate and Mentor: Work with product managers, review code, pair, and provide design feedback.
