Dropzone AI, a remote-first US company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Rapid Development Team to advance its autonomous investigation platform. You will design, build, and maintain security-focused software with Python, integrating SIEM/SOAR/EDR capabilities, and contribute to 24x7 on-call support.

You will push for rapid yet maintainable delivery, partner with customer success, and help shape technical direction in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining security-focused software products or large-scale security tooling.
• Strong development skills in Python, with the ability to produce clean, maintainable, production-grade code.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools and agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

About the role

The Engineering Rapid Development Team owns the design and delivery of core capabilities and improvements that power Dropzone AI’s autonomous investigation platform. This role is pivotal in maintaining and expanding our SOC agents and ensuring the platform is ready to face a wide array of customer environments in an evolving security landscape.

What you'll do

• Lead the design and development of platform capabilities and code fixes that enable our AI agents to autonomously investigate and respond to security alerts
• Evolve the investigation logic and pipelines to handle new classes of security alerts, balancing accuracy, performance, and maintainability
• Review and analyze investigations performed by our AI to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement, and then translate those insights into product enhancements
• Partner with GTM and customer success teams to provide input on technical direction, prioritize features, and ensure we’re solving the most impactful problems for defenders
• Drive quality through automated testing, performance monitoring, and secure coding practices
• Periodically participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
• Build into and improve the product by writing investigation flows, building integrations with security tools, and fixing bugs
• Collaborate with customer facing teams,to provide fixes for customer pain points, or security tooling limitations

Requirements

• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining security-focused software products or large-scale security tooling
• Strong development skills in Python, with the ability to produce clean, maintainable, production-grade code
• Proficiency with AI coding tools, and agentic workflows
• Familiarity working with clients to deliver fixes that balance long term product goals and maintainability
• Expertise integrating with and building on top of security platforms (e.g. SIEMs, SOAR, EDR, cloud security services)
• Solid understanding of modern security operations practices, detection engineering, and common attack techniques and vulnerabilities
• Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end feature development from sparse problem definitions to thoughtful design, implementation, testing, and deployment
• Comfortable making decisions balancing both rapid delivery and long-term maintainability
• Early-stage startup mindset. You thrive on ambiguity, move with lightspeed execution, and can translate ambiguity into shipped features that move the business

We are a 100% remote company where you will work from your home with company-provided equipment to set you up for success. Semi-frequent travel to professional office settings and other events locally and nationally; some overnight travel expected.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range below, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at Dropzone your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition, all compensation packages include significant above market new hire equity grants because we believe in rewarding long term value creation. If you are hired at Dropzone your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. The pay range for this role is:

$180,000 - $200,000 USD
