Job summary

Bolt.new by StackBlitz seeks a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to strengthen the backend powering Bolt.new and StackBlitz.com. You’ll own platform features, developer infrastructure, and integrations used by millions of developers worldwide, building in-browser experiences.

You’ll collaborate across small, focused teams, ship robust code, and help scale web apps with PostgreSQL, AWS, and modern tech stacks while communicating clearly with teammates and customers in English.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational DBs.
• Experience with AWS and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building web applications with REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong communication and English proficiency.

About This Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to help build the backend systems that power StackBlitz.com and Bolt.new. In this role, you'll work on platform features, developer infrastructure, and integrations that enable millions of developers around the world to build software entirely in the browser. How You'll Contribute

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails

• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL (or similar relational databases)

• Experience with AWS and modern cloud infrastructure

• Familiarity with CSS, SASS, HTML, and other templating/styling languages

• Experience building web applications with REST or GraphQL APIs

• Production experience with Node.js and TypeScript; this role works across both the Rails and Node/TypeScript stacks

• Strong communication skills - especially when explaining technical topics

• Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required, as this role involves frequent collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and customers where English is the primary working language.

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with Cloudflare Workers or edge infrastructure

• Interest in working with AI or LLMs

• Experience integrating with GitHub APIs or other version control systems
