HRL Laboratories, an IBM company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer with a strong physics background to design and develop internal tools and data stores. You will collect, analyze, and surface logs and metrics from quantum computing infrastructure, bridging experimental hardware, device physics, and production-grade applications.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in computer science, physics or related discipline with at least 5 years of industry experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for tool development, data processing, and automation.
• Experience building user facing or internal interfaces using VueJS.
• Experience with spin qubit device testing, semiconductor device physics, or related experimental hardware environments.
• Familiarity with AI/ML workflows or integration of AI tools into development or analysis.
• Experience writing shell scripts (PowerShell, Bash, batch) for automation and system integration.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and cross functional collaboration.

Mansioni

• Design, build, and maintain infrastructure for collecting logs, metrics, and test data from spin qubit devices and related hardware/software.
• Develop and maintain internal tools and dashboards using Python, SQL, and VueJS.
• Add endpoint monitoring and observability features into internal APIs and device test workflows.
• Collaborate with physicists and test engineers to structure and contextualize experimental data.
• Lead cross-functional technical initiatives across software, physics, and hardware test teams.
• Create queries, dashboards, and reports supporting scientific analysis and operational decisions.
