Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience on complex systems.
• Strong Python proficiency and debugging across the stack.
• Experience owning the full SDLC for production software and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support R&D software used by scientists for reliability and performance.
• Own the SDLC for R&D codebases, triage bugs, address regressions, and improve code health.
• Improve observability: logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Design and manage backend/frontend for R&D data acquisition.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for rapid and reliable deployments.
• Calibrate and bring up lab equipment; review scientist-contributed code for quality.
• Collaborate with IonQ software teams for alignment and integration.
• Mentor engineers and empower scientists with accessible tooling.
