Job summary

TE Connectivity in Rochester, NY, is seeking Software Engineers II and above to develop software platforms, automation, and data‑driven solutions for optical interconnect products. Flexible location notes include Webster temporary site with a move to Rochester near RIT.

Roles involve building applications for manufacturing, test platforms, and data analytics, requiring collaboration with optical, mechanical, electrical, and process teams to meet performance objectives.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years of experience for Senior level; 3–5 years for Eng II level in software/automation/industrial software.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, Java, or similar.
• Experience with version control, testing, debugging, and software lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Develop software platforms, automation systems, and data‑driven solutions for optical interconnect products.
• Build and maintain automation and test platforms for manufacturing environments.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with optical, mechanical, electrical, and process teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Design software for data collection, visualization, and analytics across manufacturing and test data.
• Create architecture docs, validation protocols, and user guides for deployed systems.
