Compensation: $150,000–$180,000 + equity
Wild Zebra is a two-year-old AI-powered EdTech startup that recently raised its second round of funding. We are building a personalized AI-powered learning partner for students in grades 2-12. Our software is used by schools and students across the country, and we are building systems that support a new generation of AI-powered learning.
Our engineering team is under 10 engineers. This role is based in Seattle and is primarily in-office.
Design, build, and maintain backend services in Python.
Design and develop APIs, data models, and application architecture.
Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
Integrate LLMs and AI services into production systems.
Improve performance, reliability, monitoring, testing, and deployment.
Contribute to web applications built with TypeScript and React.
Be an integral part of the product development.
BS in Computer Science or related technical field.
6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Already living in the Seattle area; we are not offering relocation assistance.
Experience Building products with LLMs or other AI technologies.
Designing distributed or asynchronous systems.
Working in education technology.
$150,000–$180,000 base salary, depending on experience.
