Job summary

Lyft is seeking experienced software engineers to join the Pricing team within the Marketplace org in Toronto. You’ll influence rider pricing, driver earnings, and broad distribution of pricing strategies through scalable distributed systems and ML/data-focused solutions.

You’ll work on latency-sensitive, large-scale backend challenges, collaborating with Product and Science to implement complex pricing requirements and improve the Lyft customer experience.

Qualifications

• BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering industry experience.
• Extensive experience in object oriented programming, ideally in GoLang or Python.
• Experience in backend software development of large-scale distributed systems and concurrency.
• Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Help define the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs
• Unblock, support, effectively communicate, and obtain buy-in across teams to achieve results
• Lead projects of multiple people from idea to positive execution
• Write clear, scalable and clear design documentation
• Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
• Utilize your expertise in Python, Golang, AWS to deliver robust and scalable solutions
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
• Proactively participate in resolving ongoing incidents
• Share your knowledge through tech talks, mentorship, and evangelizing appropriate tech and engineering best practices
