Job summary

Kunai is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a high-impact digital payments modernization program. You will build and maintain backend services for card network integration, focusing on Java, PostgreSQL, and OpenShift, while modernizing legacy to cloud-native architectures.

You will drive performance testing methodologies, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver scalable solutions in a distributed environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in Java.
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience deploying in containerized environments (OpenShift/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Tomcat and/or WebSphere servers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services for payment network integration.
• Contribute to performance testing strategies and optimization.
• Collaborate across backend teams and participate in code reviews and planning.
