Veeva Ostro is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and deliver scalable APIs powering our SaaS platform. You will balance velocity with code health, champion clean architecture, testing, and low technical debt while collaborating with product and design teams.

You will lead engineering efforts, optimize performance, evaluate new backend tech, and troubleshoot live systems to maximise uptime. Prior Python and Django experience, strong SQL skills, and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production code for SaaS products.
• 5+ years of deep expertise in Python and frameworks like Django.
• Strong proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production code for B2B or B2C SaaS products
• 5+ years of deep expertise in Python and frameworks like Django
• Strong proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skills

Compensation

• Base pay: $130,000 - $225,000 CAD
• The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
