Job summary

Veeva Systems is seeking a Backend Engineer for Veeva Ostro to design scalable backend services powering our SaaS platform. You’ll balance fast delivery with long-term code health, championing testing, clean architecture, and low debt while collaborating with cross-functional partners.

You will architect APIs, optimize performance, review product roadmaps, and mentor peers in a fast-growing, flexible work environment with strong emphasis on customer impact and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production code for B2B or B2C SaaS products.
• 5+ years of deep expertise in Python and frameworks like Django.
• Strong proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.

What You'll Do

As a Backend Engineer, you will design and deliver scalable backend services that power Veeva Ostro’s SaaS platform. In this role, you’ll balance high-velocity delivery with long-term code health, building impactful features while championing clean architecture, rigorous testing, and low technical debt.

Requirements

Compensation

• Base pay: $110,000 - $270,000
• The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
