Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in San Diego, CA. The role requires active US Secret clearance to start, with on-site work and up to 10% travel.

You will develop software on a RHEL platform using C++ for Windows X Windows and web-based middleware, with JavaScript/React web front-end expertise. Applicants should have strong CS fundamentals, experience with large-scale systems, and familiarity with Nginx/Apache, relational databases, and modern web tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience; Master's with 3+ years; PhD with 0 years related experience.
• Linux (RHEL) familiarity.
• Front-end technology experience JavaScript, React, CSS3 and HTML5 and libraries such as React Js, Angular, jQuery and LESS.
• Strong Web experience; ability to design, build and maintain large-scale systems.
• Experience with Nginx or Apache servers on Linux.
• Familiarity with DBMS such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB and MySQL.
• Basic UI/UX design knowledge and prototype design.
• Solid understanding of low-level OS concepts including multi-threading, memory management, networking, storage, performance and scale.
• Ability to visualize a proposed system and build it.

Responsibilities

• Perform software engineering design and development to produce reliable, modular, secure components.
• Develop software on a Red Hat Linux (RHEL) OS platform.
• Develop with C++ based applications, X Windows-based apps, and web-based middleware.
• Create software with attention to security accreditation policies.
