Job summary

NCR Voyix in Rogers, AR is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to the Retail Self-Checkout software for Walmart USA. The role involves collaborating with multiple teams across the US and abroad to design, develop, and test software components for the NCR Voyix platform.

You will work on subsystems and interfaces, write robust code, perform unit tests, and participate in release processes. On-site work with potential travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient with Linux services and system components (systemd, networking, logging, process management, monitoring).
• Ability to install, test, debug, and troubleshoot complex software and hardware systems.
• Experience validating non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, scalability).
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub.
• Experience packaging and deploying Debian-based (DEB) packages.
• Creating and updating test documents.
• Experience preparing release documentation and updating JIRAs.
• Hands-on experience working in Unix/Linux environments; Windows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participates actively in customer engagements.
• Leads Technical Workshop (customer facing).
• Estimates time and resources for software development efforts.
• Responsible for technical design, development, and maintenance of software applications and their components.
• Leads local and remote implementation teams; oversees small to medium projects.
• Collaborates with analysts to respond to customer issues escalated from support.
• Designs software subsystems, components, and interfaces to meet requirements.
• Develops high-quality code to support architecture and future systems.
• Conducts unit testing based on system architecture and interdependencies.
