Job summary

VTG in Manassas, VA seeks a Senior Associate Software Engineer to support a Navy tactical system (CIS). The role centers on software development, testing, and integration, spanning from legacy to containerized environments. You will join a large, multi-company team and contribute to builds, deliveries, and lab validation.

Required: 2+ years of experience, a BS/MS in a relevant field, and proficiency in Java, C++, Python, Git, Linux, and Docker. U.S.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology (or similar).
• Experience with Java, C++, and Python.
• Experience with Git workflows.
• Experience with Linux and Docker.
• Comfortable using Linux from the command line (RHEL 8/9).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• US Citizen with current Secret Clearance.
• Experience as a DevOps, Software, Integration, or Test engineer is a plus.
• Experience with modern PaaS tools (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, KVM, Helm).
• Experience with CI/CD tools, languages, and frameworks (Jenkins, Ansible, GitOps, Nexus, Robot Framework).
• Experience with shell scripting
• Experience with Automated Testing
• Networking experience
• Experience with naval tactical systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Software development—primarily Java, Python, and C++.
• Work as part of a larger integrated team across multiple companies.
• Assist in software build, delivery, integration, and test in multiple labs in Manassas, VA (unclassified and classified).
• Provide technical input to program managers and government representatives.
