United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Android Embedded UI Engineer to build the on-device interface for our alarm console, a touchscreen device used for real-time security monitoring, alert response, live video streaming, and two-way audio.

You will own the UI end-to-end, collaborating with firmware and hardware teams to optimize performance on constrained devices and deliver a smooth, reliable user experience in high-stakes moments.

About the Team

As a member of the Alarms engineering team, you will be responsible for building compelling user experiences for one of the company’s major new product categories. This is an opportunity to take ownership over software products which keep our customers protected in times of critical need.

You’ll be working alongside a small, dynamic team of frontend, backend and firmware engineers to develop these experiences. Our team operates as a startup within a startup, so you can expect a lot of autonomy and impact on the direction of the Alarms product category.

About the Role

We're looking for an Android Embedded UI Engineer to build the on-device interface for the company's alarm console — a touchscreen device used for real-time security monitoring, alert response, live video streaming, and two-way audio communication.

You'll own the UI end-to-end, working at the intersection of software and hardware. This means tight collaboration with the firmware team, a strong instinct for performance on constrained devices, and genuine care for how the product feels to someone using it in a high-stakes moment.

What You'll Do

• Build and own the touchscreen UI on the alarm console, from architecture through to polish

• Develop real-time experiences for security alerts, live video streaming, and two-way talkdown

• Help define technical direction and architecture for on-device UI development

What You Bring

• 6+ years of software engineering experience

• Strong Android expertise with hands-on experience building on Android as an embedded device OS

• Prior experience shipping embedded UI products — security panels, kiosks, industrial displays, or similar

• Solid grasp of performance on constrained hardware and how to build smooth, reliable experiences within those limits

Bonus Points

• Experience with native Linux UI frameworks such as LVGL or Qt

• Background in physical security or IoT products

Annual Pay Range

With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
