Job summary

Gemini is seeking a backend-focused engineer to join the money infrastructure team, owning ledger and payments services that record crypto and fiat movements across the system.

You will design scalable APIs, build settlement and reconciliation pipelines, and partner with finance and treasury to translate workflows into auditable system behavior, while mentoring teammates and handling on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend systems in production.
• Experience designing and operating distributed, stateful systems where data integrity is critical.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language; the primary stack uses Scala and Go.
• Familiarity with unit and integration testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong ability to reason about and debug complex system behavior across services and data stores.
• Effective cross-functional communication skills.
