Job summary

bareinsights is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and ship scalable payments infrastructure. You will work on production-ready systems powering real-time money movement at scale, handling large volumes of data and building end-to-end solutions.

You'll collaborate with a compact, highly capable team using Python and React, with AWS ECS and Kubernetes infrastructure. This on-site role is based in Los Angeles, CA, with visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates.

About the Role

This is a senior individual contributor engineering role at a fast-growing fintech company building global payments infrastructure that processes billions of dollars annually for over a million payees. You'll be a core technical voice - designing and shipping the scalable backend systems that power real-time money movement at scale.

What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable, production-ready systems for global payments infrastructure.

• Develop high-throughput backend systems capable of handling large volumes of transactional data.

• Launch and iterate on applications and large software projects end-to-end.

• Contribute to the technical vision and strategy for money movement solutions.

• Collaborate closely with a small, high-caliber team to solve complex engineering challenges.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience designing and building scalable, production-ready systems.

• Proven ability to move fast and deliver pragmatic, effective solutions under ambiguity.

• Experience working with large-scale data and architecting high-throughput backend systems.

• Strong track record of launching and iterating on applications or major software projects.

• Proficiency with Python and React , ideally at scale.

• Hands-on experience with AWS and ECS infrastructure.

• Experience in FinTech or financial systems is a plus.

• Infrastructure experience with Kubernetes (K8s) is a bonus.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $200,000 - $280,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

On-site in Los Angeles, CA. Candidates in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA may also be considered.
