Job summary

QXO, a leading distributor and installer of building products, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain the core services powering our commerce platform. You will work closely with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions for millions of users across web and mobile.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more OO languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go).
  • Experience with front-end technologies and frameworks such as React, Next.js, or TypeScript.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
  • Experience developing and maintaining production systems in a cloud environment (AWS or GCP).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience building commerce, checkout, or personalization systems.
  • Familiarity with responsive, accessible, and high-performance UI development.
  • Exposure to AI/ML systems or data-driven services.
  • Experience with experimentation frameworks, recommendation systems, or search technologies.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, observability, and performance tuning tools.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help design, build, and maintain the core services and user experiences that power our commerce platform. What you’ll earn


  • Base pay range: $138,000 - $235,000

  • Annual performance bonus

  • Paid Time Off/Paid Sick Leave: Applicants can expect to accrue 15 days of paid time off during their first year (4.62 hours for every 80 hours worked) and increased accruals after five years of service.
