Job summary

InnoForge in the US (LA or SF) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own mission systems and ground software that enable advanced sensing platforms. You’ll wire flight software, ground infrastructure and data systems, taking software from architecture through development, deployment and live operations.

You’ll collaborate with teams across Flight Software, Hardware, Systems and Science, working autonomously while delivering reliable, scalable software close to real hardware.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development skills with experience in another backend or systems language.
• Experience owning software systems through architecture, deployment and operation.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, data interfaces and protocols.
• Understanding command and telemetry systems and asynchronous services.
• Comfortable with flight software or embedded architectures.
• Able to work independently while collaborating across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Own design, deployment and operation of mission-critical software.
• Develop ground software and infrastructure for deployed sensing systems.
• Design APIs, data schemas, protocols and interfaces.
• Build command, telemetry, configuration and fault-handling capabilities.
• Develop services for ingesting, processing, storing and visualising data.
• Collaborate across Flight Software, Hardware, Systems and Science teams.
• Test, document, troubleshoot and improve reliability.
