Job summary

ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Moorestown, NJ to join a team delivering software for the U.S. Navy's Aegis Weapons System. You will design, develop, maintain, and upgrade mission-critical applications in a collaborative Agile environment.

The role requires 5–7 years of software development experience with Java/C++/Python, strong OS knowledge (Linux/Unix), and familiarity with Eclipse and UML. Security clearance eligibility and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in software development, maintenance, or support.
• Experience developing software using Java, C++, and/or Python.
• Experience working in Agile or scaled Agile environments.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design and development and design patterns.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
• Familiarity with IDEs such as Eclipse.
• Understanding of UML syntax and its application.
• Familiarity with driver-based and automated testing environments.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance software solutions for advanced tactical defense systems.
• Develop and implement software maintenance, modernization, and upgrade solutions for mission-critical systems.
• Participate across the software development lifecycle: design, development, integration, testing, and implementation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges.
• Support Agile development processes, technical reviews, and program requirements.
• Develop and maintain software applications using Java, C++, and/or Python with Linux/Unix compatibility.
