Job summary

Adyen is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Lending for our San Francisco office. You will design and build core lending systems from scratch—including origination, underwriting, decisioning engines, repayment flows and ledgers—and ensure correctness, auditability and resilience.

Qualifications

8+ years of software development experience.
Experience with Java, web services, REST APIs, webhooks and SQL/PostgreSQL.
Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
Full professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

Design and build core lending systems from scratch, including loan origination, underwriting and decisioning engines, repayment flows and ledgers.
Turn ambiguous problems into shipped products, working closely with product, risk, finance and legal partners.
Make foundational architecture decisions that will shape how lending scales across markets and regulatory jurisdictions.
Build for integrity from day one: correctness, auditability and resilience.
Own your work end to end: requirements, design, implementation, testing, launch and iteration based on real customer feedback.
Help shape the team's engineering culture, practices and standards.
