Job summary
Alpaca, a US-headquartered fintech, is seeking a Senior Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the ledger systems that form the foundation of Alpaca's trading platform. You will work on a modern ledger to preserve a complete view of every account, collaborating with finance, operations, and product teams to deliver high-quality back-end services at scale.
The role offers remote work worldwide, stock options, health benefits, plus a one-time home-office setup of USD 500 and a monthly stipend
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building systems at scale.
- Perfomant, defect-free, maintainable code.
- Strong problem solver with proactive mindset.
- Collaborates with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working heads-down or in team problem solving.
- Strong coding skills, preferably in Go.
- Experience with Protobuf, gRPC, GCP, and PostgreSQL.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver high-impact features.
- Build backend systems with integrity, maintainability, scalability, and stability.
- Own delivery of high-visibility features from design to deployment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system health.
