Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance our Technology landscape. You will perform end-to-end engineering tasks across a system, design and implement solutions, and provide technical leadership while consulting with users to define requirements.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of software development experience, demonstrated leadership, cloud familiarity (AWS/Azure), and strong expertise in API development, IaC, and modern frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related STEM field.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience leading software engineering teams.
• Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS/Azure).
• Proficiency with API development (REST/GraphQL).
• Familiarity with IaC (Terraform, AWS CDK).
• Working knowledge of React.js and/or Node.js.
• Proven scripting proficiency (JavaScript/TypeScript/Python).
• Understanding of eventing systems (Kafka).
• Experience with relational databases (DB2/MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with document databases (MongoDB/DynamoDB).
• Experience with testing (NUnit/XUnit, Moq, Jest, Cypress).
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub.
• CI/CD experience (CloudBees Jenkins, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0 / OIDC.
• Observability tooling (Dynatrace, ELK, OpenTelemetry).
• Agile/Scrum processes (Jira, Rally).
• Delivery and leadership capabilities.
