Job summary
Travelers seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our Technology group and lead end-to-end software initiatives across multiple applications. The role involves advanced design, development, testing, health monitoring, and collaboration with users to define technical specifications and drive complex initiatives.
The ideal candidate has five+ years of progressive software engineering experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to deliver in an Agile environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive software engineering experience with technical leadership.
- Ability to reason about system flexibility and manage technical debt.
- Proven track record building partnerships and influencing priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
- Experience in agile environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead an engineering team and grow its members.
- Own system design, delivery cost and feasibility.
- Mentor engineers through pairing and code reviews.
- Balance trade-offs with technical debt and cross-team contracts.
- Maintain operational artifacts and ensure system status.
- Contribute to engineering standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
