Job summary

Spatial Front, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Senior Application Developer to join our team in Suitland, MD.

You will design, develop, and integrate Java-based backend applications and microservices in a cloud AWS environment, interfacing with customers and SMEs throughout the software lifecycle. The role requires 10+ years of experience with Java EE/Spring, RESTful APIs, React, and PostgreSQL, plus Agile/Scrum experience and strong collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 10+ years of recent software development experience.
• Hands-on Java development experience with Java Open-Source frameworks.
• Experience developing Java-centric, scalable enterprise applications.
• Experience with microservices and APIs (RESTful or SOAP).
• Experience with Java EE and Spring Framework.
• Experience with web apps, SOA, and deployment.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Experience with large-scale relational databases (PostgreSQL).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and leading or contributing to multiple projects.
• Strong interpersonal communication to collaborate with teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and integrate custom Java backend applications.
• Develop microservice applications in a cloud environment.
• Interface with senior customer management and SMEs.
• Resolve complex design, implementation, and performance issues.
• Work with Information Security to meet security requirements.
• Support all development and delivery activities from requirements to production.
• Consult with teams and end users to identify new requirements and improvements.
• Assist in evaluating new technologies and tools.
