Job summary

Agile Defense, Inc. in Rosslyn, VA, is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to design and implement backend services in a hybrid work model. You will build distributed microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native components to support mission-critical operations and AI-driven workflows.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of Java experience, strong Spring Boot and API design skills, and a track record with AWS, OpenFGA, and distributed systems. Onsite twice weekly in Rosslyn.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 4+ years of Java experience.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with AI, DevSecOps, data engineering teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement API endpoints and business logic for wrapper service
• Develop features for OpenFGA data model management
• Write unit tests and integration tests
• Debug and resolve software defects
• Assist with documentation and code examples
• Participate in code reviews and team ceremonies
• Support onboarding with technical questions
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements
