Job summary

JPMorgan Chase seeks a Java/Python Lead Software Engineer to guide design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable systems in the Data Technology space within Consumer & Community Banking. You will influence architecture, drive cloud-native implementations on AWS, and lead AI-assisted engineering practices across multiple applications.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for production services.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go with strong AWS experience.
• Experience with AWS services to host APIs, run apps, enable messaging, and implement event-driven services.
• Experience organizing Terraform workspaces and writing IaC code.
• Experience designing microservices and backend services.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Proven ability to lead AI-assisted software development practices responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical guidance to support the business and engineering teams.
• Designs and develops secure, high-quality production code and performs code reviews.
• Leads system design and implementation for cloud-native services on AWS.
• Drives decisions affecting product design, functionality, and operations.
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and delivery.
• Establishes validation standards for AI workflows and promotes pattern reuse.
• Applies SDLC toolchain expertise to improve reliability and throughput.
• Acts as a function-wide SME and advocates firmwide frameworks and practices.
