Job summary

JT4, LLC is seeking a Software Engineer IV in Colorado Springs to lead software projects across the lifecycle, from design to deployment, collaborating with engineering teams to integrate software with hardware systems for defense-related applications.

Candidates should have strong experience in Linux development, RESTful APIs, Docker, and modern web technologies, with readiness to obtain security clearances and support a national defense program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with eight years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering with six years, or an accredited doctorate with four years.
• Experience developing on Linux servers (Ubuntu).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and building/distributing software across teams.
• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
• Experience with message broker technologies such as NATS.
• Experience with WebSockets and building web-based services.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, and implement software engineering projects or major phases of projects.
• Analyze, evaluate, and integrate solutions to complex technical problems within constraints.
• Assist in formulating engineering requirements to meet customer needs and deadlines.
• Provide timeline estimates and report status to Engineering & Integration Manager and Lead Software Engineer.
• Work with project management, hardware, communications, configuration management, QA, and operations to ensure proper integration.
• Design, implement, test, and deploy software projects.
• Review modifications to ensure compatibility with hardware and software.
• Solicit and document detailed product requirements; write data packages for software development.
• Attend and facilitate meetings as required.
• Perform other related duties as required.
