Job summary
Grounded is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build software for a Grounded vehicle ecosystem — mobile app, fleet dashboard, and onboard computer systems. You will shape data models, APIs, and automation that connects field vehicles to customer-facing software and internal tooling.
You will collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers, turning physical systems into software while owning features end-to-end, from concept through shipping and iteration based on real feedback.
Qualifications
- 7+ years building and shipping production software
- Strong in a modern web stack (React/TypeScript, Node) across frontend, backend, and APIs
- Experience at a startup or small company where you ship and own work
Responsibilities
- Build and own features across mobile app, fleet dashboard, and onboard telemetry system
- Design data models and APIs connecting vehicles to dashboard and app
- Create internal tooling for design-to-manufacturing: parametric CAD, BOMs, work instructions, configurator
- Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers to translate hardware into software (sensors, controls)
- Own features end-to-end from design to ship using real customer/shop-floor feedback
- Make pragmatic architecture decisions for a small fast-moving team
