Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Infrastructure Security to design and operate cloud-native security platforms at global scale. You will own security services end to end, collaborate with engineers, and improve reliability, performance, and security across distributed systems.

Proficiency in Python or Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern data stores is essential, with on-call responsibilities and a commitment to secure-by-default practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-native security services used across Klaviyo.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build and operate cloud-native security platforms and services that are reliable, secure, and performant at global scale. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-native security services used across Klaviyo
• Own components and services end to end, from implementation through production operation

• Identify and fix performance, reliability, and security issues in distributed systems
• Work extensively with Python, Golang, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern data stores

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and operating cloud-native, distributed systems in production
• Production-quality coding skills in Python or Go
• Hands-on experience with AWS (or a similar cloud provider), including managed services, networking, and IAM concepts
• Experience with containers and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Experience writing infrastructure as code, such as Terraform
• Understanding of scalable, multi-tenant architectures and secure system design
• Ability to own services independently, lead technical discussions, and write clear design documents and RFCs
• Ability to handle outages, drive root cause analysis, and prevent repeat failures
• Willingness to take part in on-call and respond to production issues
• Experience or interest in applying AI tools responsibly to your work
