Job summary

Vanta’s Infrastructure & Security team builds a scalable platform powering core systems. You will design and implement infrastructure to support rapid growth in data and usage, while keeping developer velocity high.

You will lead projects across our cloud stack, including container orchestration (AWS Fargate/ECS), monitoring, networking, and database maintenance, and you will implement security primitives and hardening across services.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable infrastructure to support growth in data volume and velocity.
• Lead projects across cloud infrastructure, including container orchestration (AWS Fargate/ECS), monitoring, networking, and database maintenance.
• Implement and maintain core security infrastructure and controls including service-to-service authentication and secrets management.
• Identify and solve complex scalability and performance challenges related to reliability and throughput.
• Partner with Security Engineering to support security and compliance practices.
• Drive infrastructure design reviews and provide technical guidance on architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers to make a significant impact on customers and security posture.
• Contribute to building Vanta’s engineering culture as we grow.

About the job

Vanta’s Infrastructure & Security team provides a platform that powers the scalability, performance, and reliability of Vanta’s core systems. As our customer base continues to grow rapidly, we need infrastructure that scales with us without compromising speed or developer productivity. You’ll work on distributed systems, infrastructure primitives, and security enhancements that enable our engineers to ship reliable software at scale. This team has a wide breadth of impact across all of product engineering. Our work touches every corner of product engineering and compounds in value; we make it easier for engineers to diagnose bugs, build features, and deliver value to customers quickly and safely. Vanta engineers design and develop new product functionality and infrastructure leveraging modern frameworks and tooling, including TypeScript, React, Node.js, MongoDB, Github Actions, and various AWS services such as Fargate and ECS. We have a kind, talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have succeeded here without it. How to be successful in this role

• You’ve played technical leadership roles on Infrastructure or platform teams
• You have experience with infrastructure, AWS services,, and scaling platforms in fast-growing environments
• You care deeply about performance and reliability
• You’re thoughtful about trade-offs and have good product sense when creating new infrastructure
• Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact
