Job summary

Litmus is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build southbound connectors for PLCs and OT systems, enabling real-time data exchange between Litmus Edge and IIoT devices. You’ll design, implement, and maintain robust connectors across protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and DNP3.

You’ll also enable IIoT protocols like MQTT, CoAP, and SOAP, plus streaming through WebSockets and HTTP/2, while ensuring security, reliability, and scalability in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ with Golang experience desirable.
• Experience developing southbound connectors for PLCs and OT systems with OPC-UA/Modbus/EtherNet/IP/PROFINET knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop C++ and Golang-based southbound connectors communicating with PLCs and industrial control systems using OPC-UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, DNP3.
• Implement support for IIoT protocols like MQTT, CoAP, SOAP for industrial devices.
• Build connectors for streaming protocols (WebSockets, HTTP/2) for real-time data exchange.
• Ensure robustness with error handling, fault tolerance, and security in OT environments.
• Collaborate with product, OT engineers, and other developers to deliver integration solutions.
• Conduct unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing to validate connectors.
• Document APIs and connectors for internal and customer use.
• Monitor performance, logs, and metrics to troubleshoot issues.
