Your New Role

Global Quality Assurance (GQA) promotes a shift‑left approach and provides standardized process and tools to enhance the quality of applications for WBD brands in News, Sports, and Entertainment. As a Senior Software Engineer in Test in the GQA, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality using efficient and reliable test automation. You will build stable, scalable, and reliable automated suites that run successfully in production environments, delivering extensive quality benefits. You will lead quality initiatives, care about user experience, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Your Role Accountabilities
  • Scope and Complexity: Create and execute test cases for complex feature enhancements, build automated tests on top of existing code, analyze test results, and increase automated coverage.
  • QA Fundamentals: Make decisions about test coverage, determine sign‑off criteria, and apply knowledge of unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests.
  • Execution: Utilize black‑box test methodology, document bugs, use network monitoring and performance dashboards, and support automated testing efforts.
  • Operations: Provide documentation for new features, own regression testing, and coordinate release testing.
  • Influence: Drive process improvement, influence prioritization decisions, and document impact and severity of bugs and performance issues.
  • Communication: Communicate defects clearly, work with developers and product managers to understand requirements, and interact with stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 6+ years of experience with various test activities including automation, regression, UI/API testing, etc.
  • Drive test design and implementation.
  • Write high‑quality, stable automated test cases using existing frameworks.
  • Manage test data, runs, and results to provide feedback on coverage.
  • Collaborate effectively with development teams across multiple time zones.
  • Review and triage automated test results, verify outcomes.
  • Organize test case inventories to maximize coverage while minimizing effort.
  • Understand unit, functional, integration, end‑to‑end, security, performance, load, and UI tests.
Must Haves
  • Coding language – JavaScript/Java.
  • UI Automation – Selenium/Appium.
  • Mobile Automation – Appium or another tool for Android/iOS.
  • CI/CD – Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
  • Source Code Management – GitHub/SVN.
  • Test case management – Jira/TestRail/Qmetry.
  • Good understanding of digital product development and testing for web, mobile, and backend services.
  • Knowledge of emerging industry trends such as AI testing and best‑in‑class processes (nice to have).
