As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for simplifying and streamlining services within the Identity organization. You will make technical and architectural decisions, influence the team’s roadmap, and collaborate across Product, Project Management, and Engineering.

You will be part of an inclusive, dynamic engineering organization grounded in agile practices, CI/CD, and collaboration, committed to quality and continuous learning. The Identity Engineering team delivers Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) capabilities across Disney properties, building high-traffic, globally replicated systems integral to user experiences.

The Identity Platform Consolidation squad ensures APIs are stable, performant, and secure, meeting broad business needs while maintaining modern security standards. We collaborate across Disney to deliver improved solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support stateful microservices and lambdas in a multi-region cloud environment.
  • Utilize Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban for planning and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor engineers to enhance their technical skills and professional profiles.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate technical decisions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with JVM languages such as Java, Scala, or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of OOP and FP best practices.
  • Experience with AWS, Terraform, and infrastructure as code.

Compensation

The salary range varies by location, e.g., Seattle, WA and New York, NY: $142,516 - $191,180; Santa Monica: $136,038 - $182,490; San Francisco: $148,994 - $199,870. Compensation includes base pay, bonuses, incentives, and benefits, adjusted for location and experience.
