What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop software for our Platform as a Service (PaaS) teams, including Database as a Service (DBaaS), Insights, Serverless, or Kubernetes.
• Engineer solutions to meet our customers’ business problems.
• Create scalable, performant, and reliable services.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
• Operate our current solutions at scale.
• Maintain and operate our products.

Technologies We Use

Kubernetes, Go, gRPC, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Ember/React, and others.

What You’ll Add To DigitalOcean

• Proven ability to develop, test, ship, maintain, and operate production-ready code and systems, with at least 3 years of experience in Go.
• Experience with distributed databases like Mongo, Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Knowledge of fully managed infrastructure solutions, serverless components, Kubernetes, containers, and registries.
• Ability to navigate and operate complex distributed systems in production.
• Strong communication skills for architecture, implementation, and design discussions.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with microservice architectures, asynchronous and synchronous processing.
• Comfort with rapid execution, learning from failures, and building scalable, reliable systems.
• Leadership experience on small to medium projects (3-6 months).
• Experience working with teams across multiple time zones.
