Job summary

Meta is seeking software engineers to join our Host Networking team in New York to build scalable distributed systems and ship production-ready software for datacenter networks and AI workloads.

As a Software Engineer - Host Networking, you will design, develop, and validate drivers, firmware, and software for network devices, work on performance tuning, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, and test teams. You will contribute to CI/CD and on-call rotations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years software development experience (or PhD with 4+ years).
• 3+ years with network devices and switching/routing.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python or shell scripting.
• Experience developing and automating test suites.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate drivers, firmware, and software for network devices, transport stacks, and AI workloads.
• Debug complex system-level issues and optimize performance.
• Understand software components from multiple partner teams, lead integration efforts, and drive continued development.
• Develop and automate test suites for CI/CD framework and various components.
• Collaborate with partner teams to integrate software components, align on goals, and participate in oncall rotations.
• Design, develop, and deploy services to manage datacenter network switches and forwarding functions.
• Develop infrastructure to maintain switch state and enable communication between services at scale.
