Job summary

PubMatic is seeking a backend engineer to design, implement, and scale high-performance Golang services on Linux/UNIX in a hybrid work setting. You will own modules, write clean code, and participate in Agile processes with a team of experienced engineers.

The role emphasizes scalable architectures, effective problem solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable features and improve system performance. A BS in engineering or CS/IT is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or engineering from a recognized university.
• At least 4 years of Go development in Linux/UNIX environments; Java is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures; ability to build scalable backend systems.

About the Role

PubMatic is looking for engineers who can design and implement highly scalable backend components and services for the OpenWrap Ad Server using Golang. We'd Love for You to Have

• Four plus years of development experience in Go, Linux/UNIX environment. Good to have experience with JAVA language.
• Proficiency in the implementation of algorithms and the use of advanced data structures to solve problems in computing. A solid knowledge in the principles of computer science is desired.
• Good experience in building complex and scalable solutions.
• Ability to find optimal solutions and innovative ideas.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Being able to use generative AI-based tools and IDE for getting work done.
• Understanding of different models at the basic level.
• Prompt engineering basics.
• Knowledge of OS and working experience on system programming (multi-threading, multi-processing, memory management).
• Troubleshoot any issues with existing features, live on production.
• Ability to write clean, modular and loosely coupled code.
• Ability to understand end-to-end product functionality.
• Working knowledge of scripting Perl/Python/Shell.
• Working experience in databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
