Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to design and operate high‑volume pricing and marketplace systems. You will own end‑to‑end services, shape API design, and drive reliability in a low‑latency distributed stack across JVM languages and Rust.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and push for best practices in observability, testing, and performance while delivering scalable solutions for travelers and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience in Java/JVM languages (Scala, Kotlin) or Rust.
• Strong ownership of services through design, implementation, quality, and operations.
• Experience with microservices architectures, automated testing, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own scalable services end-to-end from system design to deployment and support.
• Drive technical direction, set best practices for observability, quality, and performance.
• Collaborate with product, design, and partner engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
• Proactively resolve production issues and improve system reliability through automation.
