Job summary

Justworks, based in New York City, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Workforce Payments to strengthen the core computation layer powering payroll, money movement, and tax calculation. You will drive reliability, scale, and precision in financial processing.

You will lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, and partner with product managers to deliver robust platform interfaces and high-availability services for our customers’ payroll needs.

Qualifications

7+ years of professional hands-on experience.
Mastery of modern server side languages; Golang is a plus but not required.
Proficiency with SQL.
Proficiency with cloud infrastructure management, preferably AWS.
Experience supporting and mentoring other engineers.
Experience working closely with designers and product managers.

Responsibilities

Own large-scoped projects from discovery through launch with a focus on outcomes.
Collaborate with a cross functional team to solve customer challenges.
Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing systems.
Lead technical decision-making and mentor others.
Add capabilities to high-volume processing infrastructure.
Enhance testing, monitoring and CI/CD infrastructure.
Keep extremely sensitive data secure and compartmentalized.
