Job summary

Alpaca seeks a senior software engineer to help build and scale the systems behind Alpaca's trading infrastructure. You will work on a payments/treasury platform, enabling billions in daily asset movements and a global, vendor-agnostic architecture.

You will design scalable microservices, rely on Go, Kubernetes, and cloud-native patterns, and collaborate across teams to deliver robust, secure solutions.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience building and operating systems at scale.
Proven experience with microservices.
Experience with client-facing APIs and Go programming.
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and containerization.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform used in production.
Experience with PostgreSQL and distributed databases.
Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging systems.
Understanding of payment rails and lifecycle.
Knowledge of domain-driven design and scalable architectures.
Experience with financial reconciliation or ISO20022 is a plus.

Responsibilities

Contribute to a modern payments/treasury system with scalable, event-driven design.
