Job summary

Chenega MIOS in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical GEOINT software solutions. You will lead SDLC activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and deliver secure, scalable applications.

You'll work with Python, Java, JavaScript, Django, REST APIs, and PostgreSQL, mentor junior engineers, support cloud deployments, and ensure performance, security, and mission success.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressively responsible Software Engineering experience or 6+ years with a Master's degree.
• Experience building enterprise software with Python, Java, JavaScript and OO design.
• Web app development with Django, REST APIs, AJAX, and related web tech.
• PostgreSQL/SQL relational database design and deployment on Windows and Linux.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with ability to obtain a Polygraph.
• Background and drug screening cleared.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise GEOINT software.
• Participate in all SDLC phases including requirements, architecture, design, and testing.
• Develop full-stack apps using Python, Java, JavaScript, Django, REST APIs and related tech.
• Architect relational databases and RESTful services for enterprise integrations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Support cloud-based application development and CI/CD pipelines.
